Property building in Garden's Elide
I loved staying at Garden's Elide. It was overall a pleasant surprise, as I wasn't 100% sure what to expect given some of the reviews. In my experience, the rooms matched up exactly with how it looked in the description on Booking.com. Garden Elide exceeded my expectations - clean, renovated rooms, quiet guesthouse. The building is old/historic, so the rooms/building will show character, which is also mixed in with the newer updates. The host of the guesthouse - Rino - was super helpful, and we were able to understand each other even though I can't speak Italian and he can't speak English that well. He was able to show me a few places in the neighborhood. The location was perfect, still central enough to walk to everything, but away from the crowded tourist areas. It's located on a quiet street that still has all that you need - cafes, restaurants, mini market, etc. I chose this guesthouse also because it is in walking distance to the Termini station (which is convenient for travel on to other cities or airport). It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the main tourist area - Piazza Venezia. The wifi works great. No noise in the building or street noise. Just to manage expectations, it is a guesthouse (small hotel).

In spite of its low price point that may seem for some a pointer for low quality, the hotel is actually good value for money. The room itself - taken care of, the bed is comfortable, proper Schuko-style power outlets besides adapted Italian ones (good if your plug's prongs don't fit a typical Italian outlet)... Location is good for getting around, close to the metro. The staff however shines here. Helpful in spite of language barriers, really appreciative of that; feel free to ask. Not exactly a luxurious palazzo stay, but if you want a functional and honest base in Rome, it's a very solid choice.

Our stay at the hotel was amazing! It is nicely located in a quiet street and in immediate vicinity to many of the city's sights (around 15 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain). The rooms are spacious and very clean and tidy. The host is really friendly, kind and allways happy to help! Overall a really nice hotel and an extremly accommodating host! Would reccommend 100%!

Amazing location, it was nice to feel as we were “living” in a building in Rome. The guy at the front desk was super friendly and helpful, we had a problem with the shower, nothing major, and he promptly helped. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

Maria

Good location, not far from Termini and a few minutes walk from the main road. All major attractions are within walking distance. The room is a good size and comfortable and the host is welcoming and tries to be as helpful as possible.
